Overview
How Auto-Allocation Engine works
The Auto-Allocation Engine handles one-click inventory reservation for pending orders. When triggered, it checks available stock for every line item on the order, creates inventory reservations against specific SKU locations, and generates pick tasks for warehouse workers.
The allocation process verifies available quantity (on-hand minus already-reserved) before committing. If all lines can be fully allocated, the order advances to picking. If not, partial-order splitting kicks in to peel off the fulfillable lines while backordering the rest.
Multi-warehouse logic ranks locations by distance and stock depth, splitting across sites only when no single warehouse can fill the order.
