Packaging Management
Smart box catalog with on-hand counts, cost tracking, and packing recommendations.
Why this matters
Dimensional weight charges from carriers can quietly inflate shipping costs by 20-30%. The smart packaging engine picks the smallest box that safely fits — every time, on every order — so you stop paying for shipped air. Packers don't need to memorize a box chart; the system already knows.

Overview
How Packaging Management works
Packaging Management is the catalog of shipping boxes available at each warehouse, with on-hand counts, dimensions, weight limits, and active status. Packers and managers see at a glance what's stocked, what's running low, and which boxes are approved for use.
The smart packing engine uses this catalog to auto-select the optimal box for each pack task: it scores candidates based on product dimensions, total weight, and dimensional efficiency, then recommends the best fit to the packer.
Reorder alerts surface when on-hand counts drop below threshold, so you keep the shelf stocked without manual checking.
